UPDATE: Friday, October 31:
The following progress on the Crozet Streetscape project was made this week:
- All striping was completed, including turn arrow, bike-lane markings, stop bars, etc.
The following work is planned through the end of the project:
- Signage was delayed and is scheduled to be installed Monday, November 3
- A Substantial Completion Inspection will be held with VDOT next week
- Substantial completion deadline is officially November 18, and Final Completion is December 18th.
Please note that the engineer, inspector, project manager, and contractor will walk the entire jobsite and identify any last remaining items to be completed just prior to the contract substantial completion date. The current substantial completion date is November 18th. The contractor will have 30 days from the date of substantial completion to correct any deficiencies or remaining work identified at that time.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is being planned for mid-November. Details will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. We hope that local business owners, stakeholders, and residents will attend.
Motorists are reminded the speed limit is 25 MPH. Please drive carefully through your downtown.
