Hazardous Waste and Bulk Waste Amnesty Days
Starts Thursday, September 26 with business collection requiring pre-registration.
Qualifying businesses* must pre-register with MXI Environmental by September 16th to obtain an appointment. To register, call or email: Scott Shaw at scotts@mxiinc.com or 540-818-4261.
There is a fee associated with disposal.
*This event is only open to qualifying Albemarle County and City of Charlottesville Businesses and commercial establishments. Qualifications are defined by federal law to include businesses that (1) generate no more than 100 kilograms (220 pounds) hazardous waste in a month, (2) generate no more than 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) acutely hazardous waste in a month, and (3) store not more than 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds) hazardous waste.

is scheduled as follows:
Friday, September 27, 2019: 9am-2pm
Saturday, September 28, 2019: 9am-2pm

Note: normal daily paint collection will NOT be accepted on HHW Days due to logistical limitations. But remember, you don’t have to wait for HHW collection to dispose of your 1 gallon and 5 gallon latex and oil-based paints in their original containers! This is a daily service at the Ivy MUC.
