The Three Notched Trail Master Plan Team are writing to let you know about an exciting community planning project that might be of interest to you. Albemarle County is in the early stages of planning for a proposed long-distance trail through the western portion of the county – connecting the Blue Ridge Tunnel to the Charlottesville City limits.  The proposed Three Notched Trail would be an ideal location for connecting local residents with nature’s offerings AND providing safe, car-free commuting and recreation. 

A number of trail options are currently available for review and commenting, and we would greatly appreciate your members’ feedback to ensure all community voices are incorporated into the planning effort.  We will be using the feedback to develop a preferred trail alignment.  

You can learn more about the trail planning process to date, along with the draft route options, on the project’s webpage (https://engage.albemarle.org/three-notched-trail-master-plan).  We will be accepting feedback via an online survey through February 8th and you can share your thoughts on the entire 24-mile corridor or specific segments.
