The annual Crozet Independence Day celebration this year will be Saturday, June 30, 2012. Like last year, the parade will begin at 4:00 PM from Crozet Elementary School, proceed along Crozet Avenue to Tabor Street, down High Street and along Park Road into Claudius Crozet Park. Festivities will start at 5:00 PM or so (after the parade) in the Park and include live music, food, beer and wine, and games and rides for the children as well as the big ball ballgame between the coaches of the Peachtree Baseball League and the fireman of the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department. If last year's two games are any indication, you won't want to miss this.
This is a family-oriented event. Fireworks will begin at full-dark, around 9:30 to 9:45 PM.
Details are still being worked out. If you'd like to help, contact Tim Tolson, Mike Marshall or Sandy Wilcox.
The Crozet Independence Day celebration is a community-wide effort, with everyone welcome to help. The Claudius Crozet Park, Crozet Community Association, Downtown Crozet Association, and the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department are the primary organizers, with lots of help from many other individuals and groups, including the Crozet Lions, Ann Mallek, The Life Journey Church.
