Crozet Independence Day Celebration, Saturday, July 6, 2013!

The Third Annual Crozet Independence Day Parade, Celebration, and Fireworks on Saturday, July 6th. The Crozet Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) parade starts at 4PM at Crozet Elementary School and goes down Crozet Avenue through downtown Crozet, up Tabor Street, and along High Street and Park Road to Claudius Crozet Park. Mr. Carroll Connelly is the Parade Grand Marshall and the Richmond Shriners' ACCA Mini-Patrol cars are one of the many entries in the parade.

Parade lineup begins at 3PM at Crozet Elementary. Lineup will be based on a first come basis. Horses/livestock will be placed near or at the end of the parade. The theme for the parade is “America the Beautiful!”. There will be field judging for Fire & Rescue apparatus at Claudius Crozet Park after the parade. Awards will be presented at 8:00 P.M.

Then the celebration begins at Claudius Crozet Park after the parade, where there will be live music (Rockfish Gap and Second Draw), rides, and the second annual ball game between the Peachtree League coaches and the Crozet Fireman. Bring a lawn chair if you want to be comfortable as you watch the events. They'll be multiple activities for children, from bounce houses and slides to train and pony rides. This is a family event, come one, come all.

Traditional American Fourth of July fare will be available, including pork barbeque, hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, popcorn, apple pie and so much more!  Starr Hill beer and Well-Hung Vineyards wine will also be on hand, as well as 50/50 raffles, and prize drawings. Pam Garrison and Vinny Kice from HitKicker 99.7 will MC the event! Click here for a map of vendors and activities

It all culminates at 9:30 PM with a stupendous fireworks show. (We have it at 9:30 PM so it's late enough to be dark, but not too late to for the youngsters to view the show.)

All we ask is a donation of $5 per car as you enter to park to help pay for the fireworks and event expenses.  Any monies raised beyond our expenses will be donated to Build Crozet Library fund, so be generous!
